The benefits of peppermint essential oil

L'peppermint essential oil is one of the best essential oils for treating digestive problems. It can indeed treat::
- indigestion
- stomach aches
- nausea
- vomiting
In the latter case, simply sniffing it from the cap can help you feel better. You can also submit:
- a drop of oil at the base of the nose;
- a mark on the tongue;
- a drop on a piece of sugar that melts under the tongue.
If you have difficulty digesting a meal, you can also dilute a drop of peppermint essential oil in hot water with a little honey, stir and drink in one gulp. This generally follows a belching which would instantly alleviate the discomfort.
Additionally, a 2013 study found that mint essential oils were also effective in relieving nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Also in 2013, another study carried out on 65 patients with irritable bowel syndrome revealed a very interesting fact.
Participants applied peppermint essential oil three times a day for 6 weeks. The results showed that the oil is more effective than a placebo: pain in the group treated with essential oil was estimated at 4.94 compared to 6.15 for the placebo group.
