L’ADN de la marque Orthocure

The DNA of the Orthocure brand

The Orthocure brand has been around for 60 years now. It was created by Yves Paré, the first massage therapist-Orthotherapist to practice in Quebec. The name of the company, "Clinique Lafontaine," refers to the name of his care clinic.

His European physiotherapy training has greatly influenced today's massage therapy practice. From the beginning of his practice, he integrated essential oils and dietary supplements imported from Europe. He was already practicing a holistic therapy long before the word became trendy.

During the establishment of his first professional training school in massage therapy and Orthotherapy, he integrated the teaching of the use of essential oils and dietary supplements in care protocols, starting from level 1.

The range selection. The objective in the selection was and still is to select the best oils for the required functions either according to the main functions or the specificities of the oils. The primary objective was efficiency.

Then, he was concerned that the inventory of essential oils for therapists in the clinic be reasonable and that the essential oils be safe or that they do not bring or have little drug interactions or that they are not known to be allergenic.

When he started providing essential oils to his students in 1976, he started with 10 essential oils With which he worked every day: Marjoram (Origanum majorana), eucalyptus (globulus), thyme (thymus vulgaris), sage (salva officinalis), lemon (Citrus limonum), orange (Citrus aurantium), geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), cypress (Cupressus sempervirens), and lavender (Lavandula angustifolia).

Today, the range of selected essential oils consists of about thirty plants. It aims to cover all aspects of care in the clinic for all body systems and also aims to address everyday minor ailments. This selection also targets the simple use of essential oils at home by customers.

Today, teaching the use of essential oils is accessible because scientific and clinical aromatherapy is taught in massage therapy schools. Clinicians therefore have access to scientific studies and literally dive into this wonderful and very effective world.

The selection of suppliers: The original selection of essential oil suppliers was initially companies that grew their plants with the purpose of distilling them to obtain high levels of active ingredients in their essential oils.

Let's remember that essential oil manufacturers, even today, produce essential oils for perfumery or therapeutic purposes.

The choice has been made and still remains on production and distillation methods as well as on the analysis of active ingredients by batch manufacturing called chromatograph.

Today, the use of essential oils has become so popular that they are sold in large retail stores. However, to achieve such competitive prices, they must dilute them, thereby diluting their effectiveness.

To keep our prices low, we don't need to dilute our oils! In fact, as we have many new therapists joining Clinique Lafontaine every year, it allows us to purchase in larger quantities and therefore maintain our lowest prices for high therapeutic quality.

Many European doctors and pharmacists are also aromatherapists. Yes, yes, aromatherapy is taught at university in Europe and many doctors and pharmacists become aromatherapists. Aromatherapy is also practiced in hospitals and even in oncology. Aromatherapy has proven its therapeutic benefits for many years and continues to gain ground each year as complementary care to medical treatments.

Since we are passionate about natural care, therefore natural products, since we are on the lookout for the latest scientific research in the field, since we have a selection team for the best products: we are results-oriented.

For 60 years now, Clinique Lafontaine has been providing natural health professionals in Quebec with all the care products necessary to achieve the highest standards of effectiveness.
